Ingredients:
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 1 beaten egg yolk
- 1 slightly beaten egg white
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions:
- Sift together flour and spices
- Stir in brown sugar
- Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly
- Blend in egg yolk
- Pat 1/4 inch thick into 15-inch by 13-inch rectangle or ungreased cookie sheet
- Brush top with egg white
- Sprinkle with nuts
- Bake in 350°F oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until crisp around edges
- Loosen edges
- Cool slightly
- Cut in diamonds
Makes about 36 diamonds
