Hot Milk Cake (untested)

This undated recipe is written in Grammy's handwriting and attributed to Mrs. Shattuck.

Ingredients for cake:

• 2 eggs beaten 
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 cup sifted Swan's Down flour
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 2 tablespoons butter
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1/2 cup boiling milk

Ingredients for icing:

• 5 tablespoons sugar
• 1/2 cup coconut
• 3 tablespoons milk
• 3 tablespoons butter

Instructions:

1. Beat eggs in a bowl until lemon colored
2. Add sugar gradually
3. Add remainder of ingredients and stir well
4. Bake in square tin for 35 minutes (no oven temperature is noted)

Instructions for icing are limited. It simply says "Cook" next to the ingredient list.
